Once upon a time in my backyard there were two Chinaberry trees that stood about 3 feet apart with a make-shift bench (a board) nailed between them.   I was maybe four or five years old and was there with my bottles and jars of water lined up on the bench.   Each was colored with food coloring I had secreted from my mother's kitchen.   The sun shone bright and it sparkled with the colors I had mixed into the water.   I gazed upon it with a child's innocent fasination.   This is one of those rare early childhood memories that stays with me to this day.   When the question is asked, 'What is art?', this is most likely the image that comes to mind - those soda bottles and jelly jars of colored water glistening in the sun.
